Positive Behaviour for Learning

Our three expectations are:bee.png

  • Be safe

  • Be respectful

  • Be responsible

Positive Behaviour for Learning aims to build capacity in schools to increase appropriate student behaviour and decrease student problem behaviour.

View our Responsible Behaviour Plan for more detailed information.

Reinforcing Positive Behaviour

Our primary goal with PBLis to reinforce positive behaviour in an effort to reduce inappropriate behaviour. Our positive behaviour system includes:

Students will be rewarded for displaying positive behaviour by being issued with a gotcha. Gotchas are issued in the classroom, playground, specialist lessons, before and after school.  They can be used in either of the following ways:

  1. Gotchas can be collected to obtain a prize from the office on Tuesdays at first break

    2. Students can choose to enter a multi-prize draw by putting their     gotchas into their chosen prize packet at the office.  These multi-prize draws occur on parade every month.

Bee Awards

Bee awards are used specifically to reward students who are demonstrating the "Behaviour of the Week". Students can receive bee awards in the classroom, playground, specialist lessons, and before and after school.

Each week students put their bee awards into a box in the office. On parade every Monday morning three students from prep - 3 and three students from 4 - 6 are drawn out.  These students are then able to choose a prize from the prize box in the office.

Student of the week

Each week one or more students are selected from each class to receive a student of the week award from either their classroom teacher or a specialist teacher. These rewards recognise each student's ability to be safe, to be respectful, or to be responsible.
