At Gatton State School, students in Year 6 are given the opportunity to participate in a school camp each year. ​IMG_2235.JPGYear 6 Camp

Year 6 have the opportunity to attend a three-day camp at Emu Gully Adventure Camp. The activities at the Helidon campus are purpose-built for developing teamwork and leadership and are typically based around epic events in our history. The program focuses on the character values of Courage, Mateship, Sacrifice and Perseverance and are professionally facilitated to enhance learning outcomes both in the moment and with application to real life. 

The camp is fully catered with dormitory style accommodation. The Challenge program is the cornerstone of the Emu Gully experience. The Challenge is exceptional for building teams, overcoming obstacles, enhancing communication skills and developing leadership capacity.

This camp is part of the Gatton State School camping program.  During the program the children are exposed to various challenging situations, both physically and mentally, that are designed to assist the child in his/her overall social and emotional development.  Because of the unique nature of the camp, it is highly recommended that children attend.​
