Instrumental Music
Tuition is available for the following instruments by our visiting instrumental teachers.
Years 4-6 band program: flute, clarinet, alto and tenor saxophones, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba and percussion including drums, tuned percussion and auxiliary percussion.
Years 3 - 6 strings program: violin, viola and cello
The concert band which includes all students from the brass, woodwind and percussion lessons, rehearse once a week.
Choir
Gatton State School has a choir who perform at numerous parades and events both at school and in the local community.
Choir is for any student in years 4-6 who enjoys singing. Our choir currently consists of approximately 30 members who rehearse at lunchtime.
Gatton's Got Talent
Gatton State School holds a talent contest for students in years 3-6 who believe they have a special talent in a performing arts - dance, drama or music. The students participate in auditions during lunchtime and then the top acts perform for the school. Staff and students vote and the winner is announced. This is an activity that a number of students enjoy and also provides them with the opportunity to perform in any of the arts areas. In 2016 we added a staff section which created great interest!!
